Using Jewish Learning Stories as a Curriculum Framework That Includes Families
“Curriculum” is a surprisingly rare word in current philosophical literature on the teaching/learning process that takes place in programs for young children. And yet, we still often use the words “curriculum” to describe what we offer in our Jewish programs, particularly around Judaic topics such as holidays. In this session, we will explore what the word means to each of us now, particularly in our understanding of emergent curriculum, and how we already are engaging in emergent JEWISH curriculum with children and families.
To prepare for this session: please bring a sequenced series of at least 4 PRINTED photos of ONE experience of ONE child that relates to Jewish life in some way from your perspective.
