Recognizing the child as competent and capable includes not just cognitive capability, but his social emotional wellbeing as well. In this session, we will learn to view the child's behaviors from a new lens so we can be more helpful to their needs. Studying the Conscious Discipline Brain Model will help us understand the brain-body states that produce behaviors in children and in ourselves. We will explore ways to be conscious of our own thoughts and emotions so we can help children learn to do the same. These strategies can be used both in the classroom and shared with families as you partner with them in supporting their children's and their own social emotional wellbeing at home.
